1. Gather Your Info

Before you begin, there are a couple things you can do to prepare.

First, you and your parent(s) will each need to register for your own FSA ID using social security numbers (SSN) and unique email addresses. Learn more about creating your account(s).

Next, gather the information and documents you’ll need handy while filling out the FAFSA—like SSNs, tax returns, and driver’s license numbers.

2. Complete the FAFSA

When you’re ready, log into the FAFSA site and fill out the 2024-25 FAFSA. It takes most people less than one hour.
